1 hour 30 minutes

On this trip you are flown over the Westman Islands, a small cluster of islands on the south coast of Iceland.

The Westman Islands are situated in an active volcanic zone which last erupted in 1973, forcing all of the island’s inhabitants, 5000 of them, to evacuate their homes for several months. Some returned but others chose not to and today the number of inhabitants on Heimaey, the largest of the islands, is around 4200.

The trip will take about an hour and a half. For those who want to make more of their trip, we offer an addition of 2-3 hours by landing at the airport of the Westman Islands and traveling around the main island Heimaey, experiencing the breathtaking and unique nature it has to offer. With some luck you might be able to spot a Puffn or two, but they make their homes in the cliffs of Heimaey.

We recommend you visit the local museum, Eldheimar, which is a new museum in rememberance of the volcanic eruption that disrupted the island in 1973.
