Join this tour to see the stunning, annual fireworks show at Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon in the Vatnajokull Region. Illuminated icebergs bathed in colour from the magnificent firework show, in nature’s most spectacular surrounding, create an extraordinary experience for spectators.
The fireworks show is an annual event and 2016 marks the 16th time it is held. Number of visitors has been escalating through the years and in 2015 about 1500 visitors enjoyed the show. The fireworks show is a collaboration between the Hornafjordur search and rescue association, Jokulsarlon boat trips and the Vatnajokull Region.
In this tour you’ll get a ride in a comfortable minibus from Reykjavik. The tour starts with pickup at 14:00, driving along the south coast of Iceland where you’ll be able to see some stunning sights, such as Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, as well as the black sands of Reynisfjara and the cliffs at Dyrhólaey. We will arrive at the glacier lagoon at 10pm and the fireworks show starts at 11pm.
